Hello from Las Vegas, NV!!

My name is Heather, and we just found out at our first ultrasound at 20 weeks that we're expecting twin girls! We already have 2 older daughters who are 2 1/2 and 7. This is going to be a COMPLETELY new experience for me!! I'm hoping to learn something from other parents of twins on here :)

Hi Heather!
I was also shocked to find out at my 20 week u/s I was having twins.  I knew I was getting really big real fast but had no idea I was carrying twins, although my family suspected I was.  My dad is a fraternal twin.
After the intial shock wore off...okay who am I kidding...I am still shocked I have two babies.  Life is great with two little girls...hands full...but great.
Congrats and welcome to the twin family!

I was even MORE shocked since I'm still in my regular clothes! I've only gained around 7-8 lbs total so far. They've measured the girls at 12 oz each. They each have their own placenta which is GREAT!!

We don't have ANY twins on either side of the family, so this is definitely a shock for everyone else also!

Did you have any (worse than normal) morning sickness? Compared to your other pregnancies?

Surprisingly, I've never been sick with ANY of my 3 pregnancies!  I felt nauseaus a lot, and VERY tired, but with trying to move 1700 miles, packing up a house, taking care of a 7 yo and a 2 1/2 yo, who wouldn't be tired :)

He's excited!  They hesitated when telling us whether the 2nd twin was a girl or a boy.  He had his fingers crossed, but then she typed I'm a girl :)  I don't think we would know how to raise a boy after having 2 girls already :)

Well we are so excited for you! The first thing I said to TwinsMom when I got home from work was, "you have to get on the forum and say hi to Heather, she just found out at her 20 week ultrasound too!!" Laughing

I don't think DH would believe it except he was there at the ultrasound Laughing

Wow Heather I am shocked you are still in your regular clothes.  I was twenty weeks right around Christmas so we have lots of photos...I was big already....I had total big baby bump!  Be glad your not big yet, because it will come...heheh!
The internet will be your best friend!  I was online constantly researching this and that. Two placentas is great, that helps keep them healthy in there longer.  I started feeling movement really early with my pregnancy, towards the end it was constant!
I am so excited for you.  Your 7 year old will be a big help!
